Parkinson Music Studios Policies & Procedures
Missed Lesson Policy

If a student is unable to attend a lesson, they must inform me at least four hours in advance to qualify as an excused absence. This should be done so through the fastest means possible. I will extend the same courtesy when canceling a lesson.

Only two make-up lessons will be given for each semester
. Both make-up lessons must be made up before the beginning of the next semester. There will NOT be any rolled over lessons or refunds for student absences whether excused or unexcused.

A student will be required to make a payment for lessons that:
  1. they attend
  2. are absent from (unexcused)
  3. are make-up lessons from an excused absence
  4. are in excess of the two excused absences that can be made up
If I am not informed that a student will miss his/her lesson, it will be counted as
An unexcused absence and will NOT be made up.
Acceptable reasons for missing a lesson need to fall within the following criteria:
  • - Death in the family
  • - Illness
  • - VehicleEmergency
  • - Unavoidable conflict such as a school event,family vacation,etc.
Refund Policy
Should a student need to terminate lessons before the end of a semester, a refund of payments made cannot be given. Extenuating circumstances may be considered.

Materials/Curriculum
I will inform students of any particular method books, musical pieces, etc., they will need and it is the responsibility of the student to purchase these materials. Many times I will purchase it for you; however, I will need to be reimbursed in a timely manner.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these policies, please speak with the Ruth Parkinson prior to signing up for lessons. Thank you.
